Katie Deits is an award-winning Master Photographer, artist, art critic, writer and educator. She is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive whose expertise includes public relations, marketing, fundraising and organizational management.
She was an editor and photographer for eight years at The Palm Beach Post and, prior to that owned the largest commercial photography and graphic design firm in Palm Beach County. She writes for publications, such as The Florida Weekly and Art & Culture.
Katie has a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of South Florida; holds the Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence and a Master of Photography from Professional Photographers of America. She has been on the faculties of Barry University, Palm Beach State College and The Society of the Four Arts.
In 2007, she was a recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Palm Beach County. From 2009 to December 2016, she was the executive director of the Lighthouse ArtCenter Museum & School of Art in Tequesta, Florida.
Katie is a juried member of the International Association of Art Critics and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Florida Association of Museums and Florida Association of Public Art Professionals. She serves on the Public Art Committee for Palm Beach County and on advisory boards for The Wild Dolphin Project, North County Artists Association and Artists of Palm Beach County.
